What it is

Agricultural Gypsum

MICROAGRO® is the CERAS AGRO agricultural gypsum brand. It is a natural mineral product mainly composed of calcium sulphate dihydrate (CaSO₄·2H₂O), mined and processed in San Juan. It supplies soluble calcium and sulphur without shifting soil pH the way carbonate materials do.

What it delivers

  • Supplies sulphur as sulphate, the form crops take up directly.
  • Supplies soluble calcium without strongly raising soil pH.
  • In sodic or saline-sodic soils, calcium can replace sodium on the exchange complex.
  • Can improve clay flocculation, infiltration and surface structure.
  • Dual role: calcium-sulphur fertiliser and amendment where sodicity is diagnosed.

Applications

Applications

  • 01

Calcium and sulphur fertilisation in soybean, maize, wheat, sunflower and alfalfa.

  • 02

Amendment for soils with sodicity confirmed by analysis.

  • 03

Progressive reclamation of saline-sodic soils with adequate drainage.

  • 04

Potential infiltration and structure gains where sodium disperses clays.

  • 05

Pastures, orchards and regional crops, always with technical diagnosis.

MICROAGRO® AG-10 — Powdered agricultural gypsum

Powdered agricultural gypsum. The variant with the most documentation: data sheet, chemical analysis and INTA trial.

MICROAGRO®

MICROAGRO® — Granulated agricultural gypsum

Same chemistry as the powdered gypsum in a different physical format: less dust, easier storage and better compatibility with spreaders and broadcast equipment where fine powder causes metering, drift or caking issues. Cleaner, more uniform applications with the same agronomic uses. Final technical data under validation.

How it works

How it works

Calcium sulphate dissolves in the soil solution, releasing calcium and sulphate. Calcium takes up exchange sites and displaces sodium from clays into the soil solution; that sodium must then be removed by rainfall, irrigation or leaching, provided drainage is adequate. Sulphate stays available as a sulphur source. The effect is not automatic: it depends on diagnosis, rate and profile conditions.
